Innovating Belarus's Agriculture: COFCO Technology & Industry's Full-Cycle Wheat Project
Sep 03, 2024
The Belarusian full-cycle high-tech agricultural complex project is the first large-scale full-cycle agricultural and industrial production project in the Commonwealth of Independent States and even in Europe that integrates grain storage, various types of feed production, and amino acid production, and it is a significant strategic project in the field of biotechnology in Belarus. COFCO Technology & Industry has taken on a pivotal role in this endeavor, spearheading the project's overall design and providing mechanical and electrical contracting services.
The comprehensive scope of the project encompasses:
A 0.45 million ton/year storage facility, which includes a state-of-the-art 3,750 ton/day drying workshop;
A 1 million ton/year feed workshop, designed to meet the growing demands of the agricultural sector;
A 1,000 ton/day flour workshop, complemented by an 800 ton/day starch and gluten workshop, showcasing the project's vertical integration;
An impressive production facility capable of yielding 80,000 tons/year of lysine, 8,000 tons/year of threonine, and 1,600 tons/year of tryptophan, underscoring the project's commitment to nutritional excellence.
At the heart of this project is a full-cycle design philosophy, which ensures that every kernel of wheat is maximized for utility, from the first to the last drop. COFCO Technology & Industry has achieved this through the development of advanced microbial strains and process technologies that utilize wheat starch sugar as a carbon source, resulting in a production line adept at manufacturing a diverse array of amino acid feed. Furthermore, the company has innovated in the realm of by-product utilization, developing technologies that fully harness the potential of wheat's deep processing. This has led to the construction of a microbial protein and wheat feed production line, which not only enhances the project's sustainability but also contributes to the circular economy.
The project's impact extends beyond its immediate confines, promising to propel the high-quality and rapid development of Belarus's agricultural and livestock sectors. It is poised to make significant contributions to the nation's social and economic infrastructure, ultimately enriching the lives of the Belarusian people and solidifying COFCO Technology & Industry's reputation as a leader in sustainable, high-tech agricultural solutions.
